With the start of a New Year, (and new decade!), sprucing up your home after the hectic holidays can be the perfect way to make a clean start for the New Year. With all of the latest neutrals and accent colors coming out in 2010 it can be very exciting to begin redecorating with designer wallpaper and begin a fun project to keep you busy during these cold winter months! A few of my new favorites for the New Year are:

Just recently, Pantone announced turquoise as the trend color for 2010 “Turquoise inspires thoughts of soothing, tropical waters and a comforting escape from the everyday troubles of the world, while at the same time restoring our sense of well being.” – Pantone

Aside from that, turquoise can be a great accent color for any room; it coordinates beautifully along side these new neutral grey tones that I am seeing everywhere. Or for real modern impact, place it alongside black.

Try Barbara Hulanicki’s Viva in black gloss on your walls with a crisp white couch and turquoise throw pillows. Sleek, modern, and trendy.

These trend colors led themselves to all types of decorators.  For the subtle decorator, greys are definitely becoming the “it” neutral.  As for the bold decorator check out these great purple and yellow designs.
