Hi! I am Emma Green – Designer, Wife and Mother of 1 ( +1 on the way!)
I have been in the wall coverings industry for nearly 16 years, two of which have been at Graham and Brown. I have been fortunate to work on some great collections at G&B, including the first wallpaper range for American designer Amy Butler, new designs for our own new Contour Antibac range and working with LLB for his first flock collection. I am currently working on some new designs with Marcel Wanders, so watch this space!
With so much great design out there it’s hard not to use it in your own home. My tip is to be creative to reflect your own sense of style!
I like to keep curtains and floors plain so that pattern and color can be used on the walls, and in accessories. These can then be easily updated and changed. I love wallpaper and have used it in every room. I like to spend a bit more on certain furniture pieces, which I think will stand the test of time and the changes in trends. Art work and the little we have in terms of ‘‘ornaments’’ are collected from our travels to make the look of a room more personal to us.
Our home life is kept busy with our 3 year old boy so I’’m not one for spending my time at the weekends shopping. Keeping up with the latest looks is down to the research we do at work, the internet and magazines, but I do like a shop that has everything under one roof – keeps my shopping time to a minimum!
The spare time I do have I like to swim, play the violin for various orchestras around Manchester and play the piano at home.
