Graham & Brown’s very own Novella was recently used to promote the new limited edition Scarlet collection from GHD.

OK, perhaps the emphasis was on the fact Katy Perry was stood in front of the Graham & Brown wallpaper but none the less we think the paper plays an important part in the overall impact of the advertising and adds a touch of Art Deco glamour to proceedings.

When photographic artist Kirsty Brooks was commissioned to produce artwork for the new Barbara Castle Way Health Centre in Blackburn, Graham & Brown were more than happy, along with numerous other local manufacturers, to open up our doors.

The images capture the industrial flavour of Blackburn and illustrate that Manufacturing is still alive and well.

For the second year in a row, the Graham & Brown brand has been officially recognised as a “Cool” brand. But what does cool mean? Well from our perspective it means we are in good company alongside perhaps more well known brands, with bigger budgets, but none with bigger hearts or passion than the team at G&B. Cool is not something we set out to be, it just sort of happened, as a result of the things we do, and I guess could leave just as quickly. What is pleasing for Graham & Brown as a business is that it has come about as much as anything as a result of making wallpaper desirable again, which from where we have come from is no mean feat. It’s a collective effort, and works because of our design studio’s imagination, our collaborations with people like Marcel Wanders, our advertising or perhaps the way we communicate, but we thank the coolbrand panel for their recognition, and hope that we can stay cool, for a little while longer yet.

It’s nearing the end of Summer here at Graham & Brown and although the weather has been lacklustre to say the least our work experience designers have brought sunshine to the studio! We have had many students and graduates from all over the country descend on our studio to create some stunning pieces of work. Hopefully they will have all left with a greater knowledge of the inner workings of a busy design studio and experience that will set them up for a great future in the design world.

We will be completing our work experience sessions on a high with Henrietta Scholes arriving in September. Henrietta was our prize winner at New Designers this year and part of her prize was to spend some time with the design team in the studio.
